Frederick Construction was awarded the contract by a Vicksburg Community School District to provide construction services for the new athletic complex. The scope of this project included complete removal and replacement of concession stands, restroom facilities, site fencing, bleachers, parking lots, football playing surface, and site utilities.
The new design included construction of three new multi-use buildings that provided a new soccer press box with athletic equipment and band instrument storage, two public toilet rooms, concessions, and team locker rooms, a 5,000 seat grandstand with press box, 1500 seat visitors bleachers, site fencing, site lighting, sports lighting and an all-weather track with a synthetic football playing surface. Vicksburg was the first district in the area to install this specialized playing surface.
This project required the removal, disposal, and replacement of the 80,000 yards of unsuitable soil required to rebuild all of the new playing surfaces and structures.
This project was completed within an occupied campus which had 600 students and staff members. Frederick Construction provided and administered a construction phasing plan which prevented possible student or public safety issues or interference with after school activities
The success of this project was greatly attributed to the continuous communication between the contractor, owner, and design team.
