Frederick Construction took 101 and 103 E. Prairie Street, located in downtown Vicksburg, back to the 1880s. During Phase II of this project, the existing storefronts at both structures were removed and re-constructed back to the original design.
The new storefronts were custom framed and trimmed using mahogany due to its durability when exposed to the outside elements. New 1” thick insulated glass storefront windows were installed, along with custom oversized doors with period-correct hardware. Exceptional craftsmanship from our carpenters is on full display with this project.
The building addresses previously occupied two iconic businesses in Vicksburg for many years. 101 E. Prairie Street was home to D&G Grocery and Boers Dress Shop, while 103 E. Prairie Street was known as Doris Lee’s Sweet Shop.
