Lake Michigan College

Completed in 2013 the S-Wing Student Center and D-Wing renovation included a 6,000 square foot, two-story addition and restroom renovations. Labeled as the Hawk’s nest, the new addition included a new café, student activity center, and study area.

Frederick executed major demolition of an existing outdoor amphitheater located within the existing building lines, new concrete foundations, structural steel, glass curtain walls, composite metal wall panels, brick veneer, and courtyard improvements.  Interior finishes included new drywall clouds, axiom ceilings, new steel stairs with a brushed aluminum handrail system, flooring, kitchen equipment, fire shutters, and full mechanical, electrical, fire suppression, and fire alarm systems.

The Lake Michigan College renovation was completed within an occupied building.  Scheduling and safety were at the forefront of the project in order to avoid disruption to the college’s daily activities and keep all school personal safe.
